Frequently asked questions
How Rebalance works
What makes Rebalance different from a normal calorie tracker?
Most trackers give you one fixed number and treat going over as failure. Rebalance does two things they don't: it absorbs a heavy or light day across your next few days automatically, and it learns your real metabolism from your own weigh-ins instead of a one-time formula. Your weekly goal stays put even when a single day doesn't.
I ate way over today. Do I have to starve tomorrow to make up for it?
No. Rebalance spreads the difference across your next few days, and the daily change is capped, so it's never a crash day. Your protein and fat targets stay protected and the adjustment comes out of carbs.
What if I eat under my target?
A light day carries forward more gently than a heavy one, so you're never pushed to overeat just to use up calories.
How long does one day keep affecting my targets?
Not long. Most of the adjustment lands on the next day or two and eases off from there, so a single day never hangs over your whole week. Within a few days your targets are back to normal.
What is a check-in, and how often should I do one?
On a check-in you log your weight and how your energy has felt. Rebalance reads the trend in your own weight and intake to estimate your real calorie needs, then suggests whether to hold steady or adjust. Check in about once a week. The app flags when one is due.
Why does it sometimes say “Not enough data”?
The metabolism estimate needs a short baseline before it is trustworthy, so until you have a few weigh-ins and about a week of logging, Rebalance holds your targets steady instead of guessing. The more consistently you log, the more confident its suggestions get.
Will it tell me to lose weight as fast as possible?
No. Rebalance recommends a gradual pace to protect muscle, and if you report low energy it eases off on suggested cuts. Every suggestion comes with options, from staying the course to a more aggressive cut, so the choice is always yours.
Logging meals
How does photo logging work?
Point your camera at your plate and Rebalance reads the food and estimates its macros. You confirm or edit before anything is logged, so you are always in control of the final numbers.
Is there a limit on photo logging?
Yes. AI logging, which covers photos and typed descriptions, has a daily limit: 10 a day during your free trial and 30 a day on a paid plan. Barcode scans and manual entries are unlimited and do not count toward it.
What if it can't recognize my food?
You will be prompted to try again or switch to manual entry. You can always type a description, scan a barcode, or enter the macros yourself.
Can I log packaged foods by barcode?
Yes. Barcode scanning pulls packaged product data and does not use your AI logging quota.
Can I log something I ate yesterday?
Yes. You can backdate a meal up to 7 days.
What if I forget to log for a day or two?
No problem, and no need to start over. You can backdate meals up to 7 days, so fill in what you remember and Rebalance picks the trend back up. If you would rather not, just log your next meal and carry on. Missing a day will not undo your plan. The more consistently you log, the sharper your targets and check-in suggestions get, but a gap here and there is expected.
Does Rebalance work offline?
No. Logging and analysis need a connection.
Your plan and account
Can I change my targets, meals per day, or goal weight?
Yes, any of them, anytime. You can set how many meals you eat per day and your remaining budget redistributes across them.
What happens if I start a new plan?
It ends your current plan and rebuilds from scratch. Your history is preserved.
How do I sign in?

Privacy and platforms
What do you collect, and do you sell my data?
